The Steelers signed cornerback Cortez Allen to a new five-year contract that will keep him with the team through the 2018 season, the team announced today.

Allen is in his fourth NFL season after being selected by the Steelers in the fourth round (128th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft. He has appeared in 44 regular-season games and made 11 starts.

In 2013, Allen started a career-high eight games, playing in 14, and registered personal-bests of 51 tackles (44 solo) and 14 passes defensed to go along with two interceptions.
