Pitt will play five of its first seven games of the 2015 season away from Heinz Field, the ACC announced Thursday when it released its conference schedule.
The first game for coach Pat Narduzzi will be Sept. 5 against Youngstown State before the Panthers play three road games in a row at Akron (Sept. 12), Iowa (Sept. 19) and Virginia Tech (Oct. 3). Pitt’s only off week of the season is Sept. 26.
The Panthers’ ACC home opener is Oct. 10 against Virginia before they travel to defending Coastal Division champion Georgia Tech on Oct. 17.
Pitt plays two games in six days at Syracuse on Oct. 24 and at home against North Carolina on Oct. 29, a Thursday night game that will be televised by an ESPN platform.
Notre Dame returns to the schedule Nov. 7. Pitt has played the Irish every year since 2008, with the exception of last season.
The Panthers end the season with a visit to Duke on Nov. 14 and home games against Louisville on Nov. 21 and Miami on Nov. 27, the day after Thanksgiving.
