From Pens Press Release-The Penguins will hold five special theme nights during their 50th anniversary season in 2016-17, starting with the Thursday, October 13 home opener against the Washington Capitals when the team will raise its fourth Stanley Cup banner.

There will be special on-ice ceremony with the Cup and a pre-game video tribute to Penguins history on opening night.

Other theme nights at CONSOL Energy Center are:

-Saturday, October 15 vs. Anaheim – “The Early Years,” featuring players from the 1967-76 teams, as well as original Penguins owner Jack McGregor. The team also will have an old Zamboni Model F ice Resurfacer on display for fans.

-Saturday, December 3 vs. Detroit – “Back to Back Stanley Cup champions,” honoring members of the 1991 and 1992 Cup teams, including Mario Lemieux.

-Sunday, January 8 vs. Tampa Bay – “Cup for a New Generation,” featuring members of the 2009 Stanley Cup team.

-Friday, February 3 vs. Columbus – “Alumni Salute,” honoring a multitude of Penguins alumni through the years.

Individual game tickets go on sale Friday, August 26 at 10 a.m. They will be available at ticketmaster.com, by calling 1.888.745.3000 or at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Box Office at CONSOL Energy Center.
